1. Mustang Island State Park

For a great beach vacation, enjoy the 5-mile stretch of coastline at Mustang Island State Park. This park is great for a lazy beach afternoon or an actioned-packed day of surfing, hiking, and mountain biking. This park offers 48 RV-ready back-in campsites with water, sewer, and electric hookups about 400 yards away from the beach and 50 primitive sites along the stretch of beach. Just north of Corpus Christi, Texas, this incredible location has camping spots along the bays of St. Charles and Port Aransas. This Texas state park is known for its diverse wildlife, especially birds. While there are many activities to enjoy at Goose Island State Park, swimming may not be one of them, due to the rough and slippery shoreline.

There are 44 back-in and pull-thru RV sites right on the bay, and 57 sites tucked under the trees. All sites have water and electricity hookups, and every camping loop has restrooms and showers. For tent campers, there are 25 walk-in campsites and a group camp for school trips or summer camps. These sites do not have electricity, and the length limit is 65′.

Goose Island State Park is open year-round. Fishing is a popular activity at Goose Island State Park, which has a 1,620-foot long pier and a fish cleaning station. An excellent destination for RV camping and activities in the sun is Lake Corpus Christi State Park. This is a great family-friendly spot for water activities such as jet-skiing, fishing, and boating, as well as land activities like biking, hiking, and nature watching.

For RV campers, there is an impressive 110′ length limit. There are 26 full hookups pull-thru campsites, 23 campsites with electrical hookups and water only, and 59 campsites with only water. All of these sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Full hookup campsites start at $25 per night. Campsites with electricity are $20 per night, and campsites with water are $10 per night. The daily entrance fee is $5.

If you don’t have an RV, there are 15 screened shelters and 10 cabins for rent. Each shelter has water, electricity, fire pit, and two twin beds, great for easy-going campers who just need a place to sleep. Cabins are air-conditioned but do not have a bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room.

Lake Corpus Christi is 18,256 acres large and provides quite a diversity of fish, including bass, crappie, blue, catfish, sunfish. There are 2 fishing piers in the park, one of which is wheelchair accessible. It is also an excellent spot for birdwatching.
