Secondary Water Winter Shutdown

With winter approaching, it is time to start thinking about winterizing your secondary water system. Many experts indicate that Landscaping is not needing to be watered after October 1^stdue to the much lower temperatures and vegetation going dormant.We would hope that everyone would consider turning off their water around October 1^st, but the secondary water system will be officially turned off October 15th. Please consider turning off your system early if possible or at a minimum greatly reducing the amount of water that is put on your lawn by turning down the time on your irrigation timer. As we are nearing the end of the irrigation season, the following is the general information on how to winterize your secondary system:

• Make sure your system is drained to prevent freezing pipes.
• Leave your valve open until Thanksgiving to ensure there is no water going into your system from the main lines in the street. If a valve is shut off before this time, it may potentially leave water in your pipes.
• Drain fully to prevent freezing but leave your filter on so issues with having an open system do not occur between winter and spring.

Nestled between Asbury Park to the north and Bradley Beach to the south, Ocean Grove beach is a calm oasis compared to rowdier neighboring beaches. There's no charge for parking, which is nice considering you often have to battle for paid parking at places like Point Pleasant. Point Pleasant Beach: One bathroom is at the end of Broadway Avenue, and one is at the other end of Parkway Avenue. The bathrooms are open from 9 a.m. The bathrooms are open from 9 a.m.
